As some of you might have already heard, I love to use Ad-block, and I have mentioned this in a couple of my previous reviews. Well, for those who know what Ad-block is there is probably no need for explanation, but if you are tired of those annoying-ass ads on porn or other sites, then you should stay and read about this wonderful add-on. The best thing about this add is probably the fact that every browser allows it. If you are interested just what the fuck, I am talking about, you are more than welcome to visit their site, adblockplus.org, and check out what they have to say for themselves. Though, I am sure that what I have to say will be more than enough to get you interested.
There are different ad-blocks, but AdBlock Plus is definitely the one you are searching for. While there are not a lot of different AdBlocks, there are a couple, and that might cloud your judgment as to which one to use. Well, it should go without saying that I suggest you check out adblockplus.org since this AdBlock has never failed me, and that just fucking means that it will never fail you too. The most important thing that you should probably know is that Adblock Plus is a free extension that will allow you to block all those annoying ads and pop-ups, disable tracking and block the domains that are known to spread viruses and other crap. I know I said that it is available for all browsers, but I have not tried it everywhere, so I cannot know for sure. But I can safely say that you can enjoy the benefits of this add-on on Mozilla, Chrome, Opera, Yandex, Safari and Internet Explorer…if anyone actually still uses that crap… honestly, why the fuck are they still trying to create a browser? Do they really think that Edge for Windows 10 is any better? I fucking think not. Anyways, I am not here to shit on that, I am here to tell you the pros and cons of using this add-on, so if you are interested to continue reading, and if you do not give a shit, why the hell did you even click on this review in the first place? I am sure many of you do not have a clue who created AdBlock, right? Well, this lovely add was created by Wladimir Palant, way back in 2006… yep, if you are only now hearing about this add, then you must be hella young. Formally speaking, AdBlock is licensed under GPLv3, and it is an open source project. Palant and Till Faida have founded Eyeo in 2011 to make it even more sustainable.
Do you even know how AdBlock works?I am sure that many of you who use this add do not even know how it actually works, but do not worry, I am here to make everything so much better. By itself, AdBlock does not really have any functionality, as it will not block anything that you do not want to be blocked. In the beginning, it basically blocks most of the ads, but you can also alter that list and filter out the things that you do not want it to block. Those filter lists are very important, as they will tell the AdBlock what it needs to block on a site, and it will not meddle with something that you do not want to be blocked. You will get a hang of it as soon as you start using it. For example, if you want to block malware or tracking you can do so, but keep in mind that AdBlock, as it is, will already keep you safe. As I have already mentioned, you can also make your own list, and whether you choose to do this or not, is completely up to you. Personally, I do not have that list since if the basic ads are blocked, that is good enough for me… not to mention that there are no exceptions I’d put under that filter list in the first place. Keep in mind that all the filters are open source filters, and that means that most of them have been created by internet users, such as yourself. Some of the filter lists included by default are the ad blocking list that is selected based on your language (EasyList) and the acceptable add list. Those are just lists to get you started, you can alter them however you want. Add or remove anything that you want and that will suit your personal use. The reason the EasyList works based on your language is because its aim is to get rid of all the ads that sound inappropriate in your language. Keep in mind that this list was not drafted by Eyeo GmbH, and if you have any questions there is a site where you have everything explained.
Create filters to get rid of ‘acceptable ads’The main reason people create these filter lists is to get rid of what AdBlock considers ‘acceptable ads’, which speaks for itself, don’t you think? Now, while this might sound like it is bad and all that crap, it is not really that bad considering that those Ads are financing the site in question. To find the middle ground, AdBlock has made a survey a couple of years back, where people were asked which are the acceptable and not so acceptable ads. This is why today you have the acceptable ads still visible when you have Ad-block; but before you start ranting, keep in mind that that is something you can get rid of as well.
Users and bigger entities are financing AdBlockOn the other hand, I am sure most of you are wondering who the fuck can finance AdBlock? Well, on part of their finance comes from the users who are willing to donate or whatever. You do not have to donate if you want to use AdBlock, but if you want to support them then you should probably think about donating. Most of their financing comes as a part of the Acceptable Ads institute, which I am sure many of you could have already guessed. There is probably a lot you still do not know about the institute that finances them, so make sure to check them out. Keep in mind that donating is not the only way you can help them grow and become even better. If you visit their site, you will have a special section dedicated to the contribute options, so make sure to check it out. If there is any site that deserves donations, then it is definitely AdBlock, since not only does it remove the annoying ds, you can use it even if you do not contribute. Some of the ways you can help out are to spread the word, report any bugs you encounter, contribute your code (obviously the programmer code that could make it better), add or improve filters, donate, and so on. I mean there are many ways you can help, so if you have any free time and if you appreciate what AdBlock is doing, just check it out. Now, if you have any issues, such as still seeing ads or anything like that, you should check out their ‘help’ section. There you will have all the most often problems listed… I do not think that there is any need for me to explain how AdBlock actually works. Honestly, this is just one of those things that you will understand once you start using it. All the annoying ads that made your cock go soft right when you were in the mood, or that interrupted your fapping session with a pop-up, can easily be blocked with AdBlock. However, there are some sites that detect AdBlock, and that is honestly so fucking annoying. Hopefully, in the future, their shit is improved a bit. However, looking at the fact that you get to use all their crap for free, how could we complain? AdBlock Plus allows you to block ads and enjoy browsing without any annoying shit on the side., Keep in mind that you have different AdBlock adds, so if this one is not up-your-league, you can check out the rest of them. Though I am pretty fucking sure that AdBlock Plus will be more than enough.
